BSB 2023: Chapter XI: Section 170

(1) The Indian Evidence Act, 1872 is hereby repealed.
(2) Notwithstanding such repeal, if, immediately before the date on which this Act comes into force, there is any trial, application, trial, inquiry, investigation, proceeding or appeal pending, then, such application, trial, inquiry, investigation, proceeding or appeal shall be dealt with under the provisions of the Evidence Act, 1872, as in force immediately before such commencement, as if this Act had not come into force.

(1) भारतीय साक्ष्य अधिनियम, 1872 को इसके द्वारा निरस्त किया जाता है।
(2) इस तरह के निरसन के बावजूद, यदि, इस अधिनियम के लागू होने की तारीख से ठीक पहले, कोई मुकदमा, आवेदन, मुकदमा, पूछताछ, जांच, कार्यवाही या अपील लंबित है, तो, ऐसा आवेदन, मुकदमा, पूछताछ , जांच, कार्यवाही या अपील को ऐसे प्रारंभ से ठीक पहले लागू साक्ष्य अधिनियम, 1872 के प्रावधानों के तहत निपटाया जाएगा, जैसे कि यह अधिनियम लागू ही नहीं हुआ हो।
